All The Gear . . .

Hello and welcome to The Sunday Selfies!

And now here is my selfie for the week:-

These days, if you are serious about your sports activities, be they mousing, napping, or yoga (yes, yoga is a sort in the feline world!) you just have to have the gear, be seen wearing it in all the right places–like the supermarket, or stretching all the right bits so they warm and flexible before you start.

As Mrs H said I wasn’t allowed to wear spandex as it would cut off my circulation and was unseemly for a princess, I decided to ask Santa for a yoga mat for my birthday instead. Imagine my surprise when on the big day, 25th December, I opened my presents and found a delightful yoga cum exercise and sports mat, delivered from my beloved Valentine of Noir Kitty Mews, in Portland. Clearly Santa had wisely elected to leave these things to Valentine, who is a master of style and interior design. Val had risen to the challenge, and hand picked the perfect mat, in a tuxedo design no less. What a thoughtful guy he is!

In this weeks selfie you can see me limbering up before a practice session on my new mat.  This pose is called the LAP or Legs Akimbo Pose. MOL

How do you guys limber up, and do you have a favourite pose you want to share with your fellow yoga masters?

Please help Katie and Lily fight back from illness. . .Miss Savvy, TKS and their mom, Linda have a fund raiser going on for two kittens, Katie and Lily, who were rescued from dire circumstances in a chronic hoarding situation. To see more, and to share, please follow the link HERE….

A BIG Thank You to everyone who has helped share, and donated, to help the girls.

  1. Wow, you are so flexible, Your Royal Highness! And you are quite right, too. A kitty has to keep fit – otherwise, how could We continue to run rings around the Humans (mol).

  2. Oh Princess, what a great idea — to use the mat not only for napping on but also for yoga exercises! I hadn't thought of that when I picked it out for you, but I'm so glad it is multipurpose! You are such a modern lady and trendsetting. That is nice of you to share your mat with your nip manner. My nanner usually hangs out on my work table. Mom keeps it off the floor so she and Dad don't trip on it and so the doggie doesn't maul it. Tee hee hee.Wishing you were here with me, dearest. Paw kisses. 3. What a great yoga mat! You are very lucky to have that…some of us kitties who will not be mentioned by name (ahem, Zoey, Rolz, Mia, and Peanut) have been engaging in a territorial pee war…a yoga mat would be fair game for sure…thus the human not getting us one… Purrs from Deb and the Zee/Zoey gang.

  8. Oh yes, it is so soft and comfy, almost too good if you know what I mean. LAP is ok once you get the hang of balancing and the akimbo bit. Not for the faint hearted MOLPurrsERin

  10. Hi Noodle. Thanks, we shall try, but only once I have finished my next LAP session. After that I can chill out for the rest of the day, followed by a long nap and a large breakfast or indeed a long breakfast and a large nap :)PurrsERin

  11. Aww, thanks, that is very kind to say. It has been a struggle to learn such poses without a proper instructor, but with my new mat from my sweetheart, Val, I feel I can at least cogitate moves in style ;)PurrsERin

  12. I sure am, I mean what princess could ask for more? I have a loving prince, fire in the hearth a fridge of cream. OK so a jet and a tropical island were on the list, but I figure even Santa might have problems getting those down the chimney MOLToodle pips and Airedale purrsERin X

  13. Thanks, we like to make people have fun. I'm sure if you joined my yoga class we could have a swell time trying to get the best pose. Yes, if you haven't a yoga mat, do get one. They are great for not just yoga, but also to reserve spots on sofas sun loungers and queues at the sales !PurrsERin

  14. You picked so well, and wisely my wooly bear. What more could a gal want but a yoga mat to exercise the stresses of the day away on, whilst at the same time enjoying the essence of her beloved in his gift. Purrfect. My nip nana is ontop of my desk, just to stop Mrs H doing unspeakable things to it with a vacuum cleaner! Purrs, smooches and cheek rubs from across the waves and landERinXOX

  15. Oh no, that just wouldn't do at all. Maybe you need a no pee zone, and then have the mats purely for yoga and then roll them away again?Or maybe plastic covered mats like they have for senior cats and humans?PurrsERin
